Iva Mae Barker, Covington, died 9:15 p.m. Aug. 6 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient three days. She had been in ill health six months. She was born Dec. 18, 1892, at Marshall, Ind., the daughter of William A. and Sarah Elizabeth Criger Long. She married Cloyd Barker on Aug. 6, 1910, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1948. She is survived by one son, Russell Barker, Cumberland, Wis., four grandchildren, Jerome D. Blair, Rt. 1, Perrysville; Mrs. Fred (Carlotta) Auter, Covington; Mrs. Lloyd (Sue) Abernathy Jr., Crawfordsville; William E. Barker, St. Paul, Minn. Nine great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sarah Blair, two brothers and four sisters. She had been a resident of the Covington area since 1941, and formerly resided in the Newport area. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Troy Chapter No. 145 OES; Achsah Shrine No. 65; White Shrine of Jerusalem, Danville, Ill.; Past Guardian, Bethel No. 57 Job's Daughters. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Kissinger officiating. Burial will be Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.   -– jlr
