James A. Barker, 60, resident of Fountain County most of his life was found dead early Tue Dec 24 (1974) , in his apartment in Covington. Fountain County Corner Dr. Walter Kinser reported he had died sometime Monday and death was attributed to natural causes. Born June 14, 1914 in Parke County, he was the son of Guy & Ruby Smith Barker. Mr. Barker had been employed as a driver for the Pitman Trucking Company of Hillsboro. He retired in 1969 due to failing health. He had resided in Covington for two year and had formerly resided in Hillsboro. He had attended the Cates Grade School. Survivors include his mother & two ssiters, Mrs. Mary Crowder and Mr. Ruth Crowder; and several nieces & nephews; he was preceded in death by his father. Services were held Thursday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, the Reverend Alfred Dobbs officiating and burial was in the Kingman Fraternal Cemetery.
