Yeddo -- Lloyd H. Barker, 75, a native of Yeddo, d. at 12:50 p.m. Wed at his home in Laporte. He was a ret. teacher and school principal and had been an educator for over 40 years. Mr. Barker was amember of Amer. Leg Post 83 in Laporte and Masonic Blue Lodge at Yeddo. He had received 50-year pins from both of these organizations. he was also a member of 40 & 8 Voiture 276, ind Ret Teach. Assoc and Laporte Dem. Civic Club. He was ab. Dec 21, 1895 to Joseph T and Rosabelle Jones Barker. On Aug 14, 1926, he marr. Madge E Drollinger in Veedersburg. Surv are his widow; four sons, Alden of Ventural Calif; Robert Oshkosh Wi; Eugene Laporte; Joseph Martinsville; a sister, Mrs. Golden Daughter of Muncie & 9 granch. Serv will be conducted at 1:30 p.l.m. Sat at the Otto E GIese Fun Home. Bur in Pine Lake Cem. Friends may call at the funeral home. Lloyd H. Barker, 75, 814 Tyler St, died at 12:50 p.m. yesterday at his home. Fun. services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Otto E. Giese Fun. Home. Bur. will be in Pine Lake Cem. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning tomorrow at noon. He was born Dec. 21, 1895 in Yeddo, Indiana and lived in LaPorte for 25 years after moving from Chesterton. he was married Aug 14, 1926 in Veedersburg, Indiana to Madge E. Drollinger who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Eldon, Ventura, Calif; Robert, Oshkosh, Wis; Eugene, LaPorte and Joseph Martinsville, Ind; nine grandchidlren and a sister, Mrs. Golden Daugherty, Muncie, Ind. As an educator, he served as principal of Kingsman H.S., Lawrenceburg HS, Springfield Twp and Kingsbury Schools and was a teacher for 40 years. he was a member of Hamon Gray AMerican Legion Post, the Masonic Blue Lodge of Yeddo the 40 & 8 Voiture No 276 the Indian Retired Teachers Ass. and Scotts Prairie Church near Veedersburg.

Lloyd H. Barker, 75, 814 Tyler St d. at 12:50 p.m. Wed at his residence following a short illness. He was b. Dec 21, 1895 in Yeddo In to Joseph T and Rosa Belle (Jones) Barker and had lived in LaPorte 25 years, coming from Chesterton Ind. He had grad. from Kingman Ind HS in 1914 and received a BA degree from Central Normal College of Danville, In in 1926. He rec'd a PhD degree from the University of Chicago and MS degree from Columbia University Barker taught school 19 years and was principal of his home HS for 8. He also was principal of Lawrenceburg HS (Springfield Twp) and Kingsbury. He was a teacher for over 40 years. He also had served Bakery Co 364 of the US Army for 15 months during WWI. Barker was a member of Scotts Prairie Ch near Veedersburg Ind; the Hamon Gray Post 83 of LaPorte of which he had rec'd his 50-year-pin the Masonic Blue Lodge of Yeddo of which he had rec'd a 50-year pin; the 50 and 8 Voluture 276 and the Ind Ret. Teachers Assoc. He was a charter member of the LaPorte Democratic Civic Club. On Aug 14, 1926, in Veedersburg, he was married to Madge E. Drollinger who survives. Also surviving are 4 sons: Elden; Robert; Eugene; and Joseph; 9 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Golden Daughterty. 4 bros. preceded him in death. Funeral services are incomplete in charge of Otto E Giese Fun. Home. (All information on Lloyd Barker's family came from Madge Drollinger Barker and a little from her son)
