LEONA, the five year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Barker, died Wednesday morning after a short illness. It was first thought that blood poisoning was the cause of death, but a post mortum held after her death revealed the fact that a necrosis of the upper end of the tibia in the left leg was the immediate cause. The child had several spasms and much suffering was endured before death came as a sweet relent. Funeral services were conducted yesterday at Centenniel at 2:00 o'clock; interment nearby. typed by kbz

One writer has said, "To change, and change is life." This truth is stamped on all nature. We come on the stage of life in the innocency of childhood, and are subject to changes until we reach our three score years and ten, if we are permitted to live that long. Thus on the 29th of March 1905, little MARY LEONE came into the home of Floy and Ora BARKER to gladden her parents as well as the brothers and sister. She was of genial and lovable disposition and early won the affection of the family circle as well as neighbors and friends. Only living a few short years yet she has taught us the lessons of hope, sunshine and cheerfulness, thus enriching the lives she has touched. For only a few days did she linger after disease laid its hand upon her, a disease which baffled the skill of four physicians. She had gone from this world of sorrow to the beautiful home of the blest, leaving her dear ones a much stronger incentive to live right than ever before. She slipped away from us August 17th, 1910, leaving a record of 5 years and 5 months, beautiful because lived innocently. Funeral services were conducted from the Centenniel cChurch on Thursday, Aug. 18th, 1910, by Rev. J. M. McHargue after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery nearby. - typed by kbz
