BEAM, Isabelle Williamson

Waynetown, April 7 - Mrs. Isabelle Williamson Beam, 84, wife of James Y. Beam, living four miles southwest of here, died last night at 10 o'clock at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville.  She has been a semi-invalid since 1929 when she fell and fractured a hip. She was a graduate of Valparaiso Normal college and taught school in this community for 8 years before her marriage. Her entire life was spent in Wayne Township and she was a member of Ingersoll Christian Church. He rmarriage took place Oct 6, 1881. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Harry Stout, Crawfordsville; a son, Clyde, at home; also a sister, Mrs. Nellie Harvey of Waynetown and a brother, Asa Williamson, of Newcastle. Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the residence; Rev. WH Newlin, Crawfordsville officiating. Burial in Masonic Cemetery.

Friends and neighbors were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J.Y. Beam southwest of here when they observed their 57th wedding anniversary holding "open house." The Rev. WH Newlin, Crawfordsville gave a talk and the Ladies Aid Society of Ingersoll Chapel sang Mrs. Beam's favorite hymns. Mr. and Mrs. Beam received many flowers, gifts and cards. Refreshments were served. Mrs. Beam, who was Miss Isabel Williamson prior to their marriage was born in a log cabin a short distance southeast of Waynetown. Mr. Beam was born on a farm about one mile south of that place. They moved to their present home Oct 20, 1881 following their marriage Oct 6 that year. They have lived in the same house continuously since except for about three years when they resided in the same community. - kbz
