James P. Beaver was born in Fountain COunty, Indiana, March 7, 1844. He was married to Catharine Brant Sept 27, 1868 there was born to them one son, Albert C who died June 3, 1873 while quite young. Bro. Beaver was converted and together with his wife united with the Baptist Church at this place in February 1874, where he remained a faithful member until the time of his death, intelligent and upright in his business transactions and conscientous in all that he did, both as a citizen and a christian, he commanded universal respect and won the love of all who knew him as it is the lot of few men to do. He was regarded by those who knew him as a wise conselor and trusted with a sense of security. He died at his home after a long battle with pneumonia March 12, 1888 in the 44th year of his age. In his death Fountain County has lost one of her best citizens the church one of her most wise and faithful members and in the community, the place of one of the truest men is left vacant. The family's loss no words can describe, and yet they are not left without hope, for they have every reason to believe that his patient chrisian life which was so beautiful here is but the beginning of that more glorious life where the shadow will never fall. He leaves besides the wife two brothers and two sisters and a host of relatives, all of whom have the warmest sympathy of the entire community. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Fuston at the Baptist Church on Wednesday Interment at the Masonic Cemetery by Undertaker Merrell. The sorrowing family all unite in an expression of thanks to the people of the community for the universal kindness shown to them in their bereavement - kbz
