Loy E. Beck, 68, 412 Old State Road 28, Williamsport, died on Sunday, June 19, 1977 at Community Hospital. He had suffered a heart attack that morning at his home. He had been ill since 1971. Born Sept. 26, 1909, in Pulaski County. He was the son of Jonas W. and Fern Hazel Holmes Beck. He was married on Dec. 6, 1942, in Williamsport to Celia Jernagan who survives. He formerly had resided in Lebanon where he attended school and in Attica. He had been a resident of Williamsport for the past 35 years. He had been a custodian at Purdue University, the courthouse in Williamsport and at Harrison Steel Casting Co. He retired from Harrison Steel in 1972. Mr. Beck was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army. He was a member of the Williamsport Christian Church. Other survivors include his mother of Lebanon; a step-daughter Mrs. Fairol (Opal) Frodge of Williamsport; three brothers, John Howard of Zionsville, Herbert of Indianapolis and Charles of Lebanon two sisters, Mrs. Louise Walls of Lebanon and Mrs. Patricia Wilcox of Jamestown; three grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Services at the Dale Maus Funeral Home in Attica, with the Rev. Joe Shryock officiating. Burial in Highland Cemetery in Williamsport.--waw
