Perrysville - Mrs. Anna Beckelhymer, 97, died here at 9:45 p.m. Sunday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Leah Morgan. She had made her home with her daughter the past 12 years. Mrs. Beckelhymer remained active through her advanced years except for the past three weeks during which time she was confined to bed. She was a member of the West Liberty Christian Church and Ladies Aid and taught primary Sunday School classes for many years. Born Oct. 11, 1869, at Seelyville, Ind., she was a daughter of William and Matilda Tiley Haggart. She was married Nov. 12, 1889, to Isaiah Beckelhymer. He died April 12, 1951. Survivors include the daughter with whom she made her home and another daughter, Mrs. Florence Coffing of Largo, Fla.; two sons, Joe of Rt. 1, Kingman, and Paul of Minneapolis, Minn.; 16 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Mark, who died in 1957, and a brother. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the West Liberty Christian Church with Rev. Ed Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. Friends may pay their respects at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home at Covington.

Mrs. Anna Haggart Beckelhymer, age 96, a veteran Sunday School teacher at the West Liberty Church of Christ in the Covington community, died at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, March 13, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leah Morgan in Perrysville. She was active until about three weeks ago and had resided with the daughter 12 years. Mrs. Beckelhymer was born Oct. 11, 1896 in Seeleyville, Ind., the daughter of William and Matilda Haggart. They were of Scottish decent and came to Stringtown in 1881 to reside with her grandmother, Mrs. Leiza Tiley. She was married Nov. 12, 1889, to Isaiah Beckelhymer, a farmer of the Stringtown community, and he preceded her in death April 12, 1951. Although she had been blind for 11 years, she remained active in church work until recently. She was a charter member of the Ladies Aid Society of the West Liberty Church, joining in 1912. Surviving, in addition to the daughter with whom she lived, are: another daughter, Mrs. Home (Florence) Coffing of Largo, Fla.; two sons, Joe of Kingman Rt. 2 and Paul of Minneapolis, Minn.; 16 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the West Liberty Church. Ed Zimmerman, pastor, officiated. Burial, with the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home of Covington in charge, was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington.
