George A. BECKETT, 87, passed away Sunday at his home at State Line, Indiana. Mr. Beckett was a pioneer resident of that community and was well known throughout Fountain and Warren Counties. He had many friends in this community who had known him as the father of Mrs. Perry Cook of Veedersburg. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Nancy Switzer Beckett about two years ago (note from KZ: died 19 July 1939). Surviving are two sons, Carter H. Beckett of Foster and Lloyd F. Beckett of State Line; three daughters, Mrs. Gladys Cook of Veedersburg; Mrs. WD Bremer of Williamsport and Mrs. FB Hobart of Columbus, Ohio. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the residence with burial in Gopher Hill cemetery.
