Mrs. Hattie P. Beckett, 75, died at 1:40 p.m. yesterday (Jan. 23, 1967) in Decatur, Ill., where she had made her home the past 14 months. She formerly resided at 939 Kingdom. Born Oct. 16, 1891, in Brown County, Ind., she was a daughter of A. B. and Matilda Jane McCarty Porter. She was married, in February of 1916 in Warren County, Ind., to Lloyd S. Beckett who preceded her in death in 1965. Surviving are two sons, Robert P. of Columbus, Ohio, and Harold L. of Decatur, and two sisters, Mrs. Lena Swobado of Popular, Mont., and Miss Ethel Porter of Madison, Ind. Mrs. Beckett was a member of the Nazarene Church of State Line, Ind. Friends will be received at the Edmund-Jones-Sullivan Funeral Home 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be at 1 p.m. (CST) Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gopher Hill Cemetery near State Line. The Rev. Forrest Robbins will officiate.
