M. Rae Workinger Beever, 96 formerly of Lafayette died at 10:10 a.m. Saturday Dec 2, 1995 in Tampa, Fla. Mrs. Beever was a press operator for many years at the Westside Clears, Hudlows & Vogue. Born in Attica Oct 10, 1899 she lived in Ft. Myers, Fla for 32 years then Lafayette for 30 moving back to Florida one month ago. She married Harry H. Workinger March 31, 1917 (note: 31 March 1918 Marriage Book 16 p 338) in Attica. He died June 9, 1960. She married Earl Beever Jan 25, 1971 in Ft. Myers and he also preceded her in death. Mrs. Beever was a member of Lafayette First Southern Baptist Church, Rebeka Lodge & Royal Neighbors of America. Surviving are three sons, Harry D. Workinger of Ft. Myers; Therman G. Workinger of Martinsville and Fred R. Workinger of Franklin, NC; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Clela) Dalton of Mooresville and Mrs. Alvin (Genevieve) McMahel, Mrs. Phyllis Vess, Mrs. Robert (Rebecca A) Livingston and Mrs. William (Mary M) McLaughlin all of Lafayette; a brother, Raymond Bodle of Lafayette; 25 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, four grandsons and one great grandson. Visitation was Tuesday at Hippensteel Funeral HOme. Services at Lafayette First Southern Baptist Church on Wednesday with Pastor Ross Terry officiating. Interment at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
