Leslie M. Bell, 67, of Hillsboro died at 1:3 (sic) p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 1969, at his home following a heart attack. Born Oct. 13, 1901, in Jackson Township of Fountain County, he was the son of Addison and Phrona (sic) Livengood Bell. He was married April 19, 1924, at Covington to Oveta Suiters, who died in December, 1962. Mr. Bell had been a farmer and had operated the Bell Super Service until his retirement in 1955. He served as Cain Twp. Trustee from 1939 to 1943, and was president of the present Hillsboro Town Board. He was an active member of the Democratic party and the Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Robert and Donald, both of Hillsboro; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Harshbarger of Hillsboro and Mrs. Kathryn Jones of Wingate; two brothers, Clifford of Veedersburg and Wilmer of Waynetown; a sister, Mrs. Othal Carter of Tucson, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Elieen Lighty in 1960. Services will be at 2 p.m. EDT, Saturday at the Servies - Thomas Funeral Home. The Rev. Walter C. Williams and the Rev. Guy Tremaine will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.
