BELL, R. Orson - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

R. Orson Bell of Newton, age 90, died Tuesday night, May 12, at his home. He was born near Newtown, January 17, 1891, the son of Joseph and Julia Floyd Bell. December 19, 1917, he married Ruby Clawson, who died June 14, 1974. Bell was a 50-year member and former secretary of Richland Masonic Lodge and a member of Newtown Order of the Eastern Star. He retired in 1956 after 40 years with Public Service Indiana.

  Survivors include two nieces, Mrs. Donna Bell Witt and Mrs. Edith I. Witt, both of Newtown, and a nephew, Joe J. Bell of Lafayette.

  Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Randy Davis and Rev. Joseph Bell officiating. Burial was in Newtown Cemetery. – thanks to S
