Hillsboro - Estline Belles, 89, Hillsboro died June 5, 1992 at her home. She was born June 11, 1902 at Advance to Pearle and Rachel Poland Finch. She married July 6, 1940 Charles Belles. He preceded in death May 13, 1968. She was a 1920 graduate of Hillsboro HS. She attended Oxford College for women and graduated from DePauw University in 1924. She did her graduate studies at Columbia University. She retired in 1961 from a teaching career of 37 years 35 of those were social studies teacher at Hillsboro. After retiring she and her husband escorted Miller Tours for 14 years. She was a past state parlimentarian for Delta Kappa Gamma International Teachers Sorority. In 1959 she received the Valley Forget Classroom Teachers Medal from the Freedom Foundation, Valley Forge, Penn. She was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church for over 70 years. The Keystone Bible Class, the National State and Fountain-Warren retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of the Dorothy Q Chapter DAR, the Hillsboro Heritage Club and the 50 year member of Fern Chapter 194 Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are four nieces, Irene Bodine, Jane Caskill, Roxanne Clouse, Julia Block, two nephews, Richard Clore and Jerome Finch. Funeral services wer eheld June 8 at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home Hillsboro with Rev. Dorman Winger officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro.
