WILLIAMSPORT — Edward Lee Bender, 44, 106 Thomas St., Williamsport, died at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2000 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. He was born Feb. 18, 1956 in Williamsport, the son of Ernest Edward and Deloris Gaynell Moody Bender. He was raised in Attica where he attended Attica High School. He had resided in Williamsport the past 13 years. He worked as a self-employed mechanic. He formerly worked at Courtesy Chevrolet-Oldsmobile Dealership and later worked at the Montgomery Ford Dealership in Attica. He was an avid Nascar fan. Survivors include: three sisters, Erna Jo (Joe) Atkinson, Lafayette, Mary (Arnold) DeZarn, Williamsport, Connie (John) Schneider, Attica; four brothers, Jon (Gloria) Bender, Dan (Tracy) Bender, Monte Bender and Jeff Bender, all of Attica; and his companion, Pat Savage, Williamsport. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice. – jlr
