BENNETT, Ruth Chaney

Ruth Marie Bennett of Sidell, Illinois, age 63, died Tuesday morning, April 6, in Lakeview Medical Center at Danville, Illinois. She was born near Hoopeston, Illinois, March 28, 1919, the daughter of Lester and Lulu Laffery Chaney. June 5, 1943, she married Ralph Bennett, who died September 6, 1980.

Mrs. Bennett was a member of Sidell United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a registered nurse and had been employed in several area nursing homes and hospitals.

Survivors include a son, Bruce of Covington; and three grandchildren, Lori Ann, Marcus and Lisa, all of Covington.

Funeral services were held Friday morning at Sidell United Methodist Church with Rev. Lowell White officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery at Sidell. Honnold and Son Funeral Home in Sidell was in charge of arrangements. - thanks to S
