ATTICA, Ind. (CNS) - Mrs. Susie L. Benson, 88, of Attica Route 4 (Independence), died at Community Hospital in Williamsport at 12:55 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 2, 1976). She had been ill for several years. She was a resident of Warren County and Township most of her life. She was born Sept. 14, 1888 in New Richmond, Ind. the daughter of Henry and Abigail Lee Petro. She married David Benson Sr. in Attica on March 25, 1906. He died Sept. 7, 1967. He was a Warren County farmer. Survivors include four sons, William of Attica Route 2, David W. Jr. of Attica Route 4, Robert of Williamsport and John of Lafayette; four daughters, Mrs. William (Alice) White and Mrs. Carl (Dorothy) Miller both of Muncie, Mrs. S. O. (Alma) Braden of Lafayette and Mrs. Herbert (Elsie) Rainwater of Clarks Hill; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She attended West Lafayette schools. She was a member of the Riverview United Methodist Church, the Warren County Home Demonstration Club, a charter member of the Happy Hour Club of Independence and a charter member of the Warren Co. Farm Bureau. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Dale Maus Chapel in Attica. The Rev. David Alexander will officiate, and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Attica. Visitation will be from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Dale Maus Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Warren County Heart Fund.
