Elmira Washburn was born in Montgomery County, Indiana Jan 14, 1842 and died at her home south of Mellott, Feb 29, 1920 age 78 years 1 month and 15 days. She was married to Christian Bever in 1863 and one daughter was born to them who preceded her in death about two months ago. She was one of a family of 13 children, only one of whom is now living that being a brother, James Washburn of Crawfordsville. She leaves besides this brother five grandchildren, several nephews and nieces and a host of friends. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the North Christian Church at Mellott by Rev. Sando after which the remains were laid to rest in the Bever cemetery east of Hillsboro. kz
