Mrs. Louie Bever, 80, of 513 Lafayette Ave., died of a stroke at 2 p.m. Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Zola Benefield, living three miles southwest of Hillsboro. She had been in failing health several years, her condition becoming serious a week ago. She was a native of near Wallace in Jackson Township, Fountain County, born Jan. 28, 1889 to Jasper and Katie Isley Cunningham. She married Homer Bever in 1905. He died in June, 1962. Mrs. Bever was a member of the Wallace Lutheran Church and had lived in the Crawfordsville area the last 30 years. She attended the Morgan school south of Wallace. Surviving besides her daughter are a son, Bronson Bever of Rt. 8; three grandchildren, Capt. H. E. Bever, serving in Vietnam, Robert E. Bever of Jeffersonville and Mrs. Mary Lou Manion of Crawfordsville, and eight great-grandchildren, including Walter E. Benefield of Cleveland, Tenn., who was reared in her home. Two daughters died in infancy. Funeral rites are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown, where friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Arthur Schenck of Newtown will officiate, and burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
