Wallace - Ora E. Bever, 76, died of a heart attack Saturday evening at Powell Memorial Hospital in Powell, Wyo. He was born near Wallace June 27, 1890, a son of Elijah W. and Mary Etta Bever. He was married to Ruby Philpott in Billings, Montana June 5, 1915. A Wallace HS graduate, Mr. Bever attended Purdue and Danville Normal College. He moved to Wyoming after teaching school a year in Indiana. He had been mayor of Powell, Wyoming for four terms and was a grain and potato dealer. Mr. Bever was a member of Powell Masonic Lodge and Shrine of California Temple, Elks Lodge at Cody, Wyoming and Eagles Lodge at Powell. Survivors include the widow, Ruby; a daughter, Mary Elaine Housel of Cody, a son James Bever of Powell, Wyoming; a brother, Charles Bever of Wallace; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A son, Bobby, was killed in action in WWII. Services are scheduled for Tuesday at Powell, Wyoming. Burial in Crown Hill Cemetery there.
