HILLSBORO — Victor "Uncle Vic" Bever, 94, of Hillsboro, died Monday night in the Golden Manor Nursing Home at Ladoga where he had been a patient for about two years. He was a member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church and was church treasurer for many years. He was a retired farmer. He attended Harmony School, south of Hillsboro. The son of John D. and Caroline Shoemaker Bever, he was born Feb. 23, 1884. He was preceded in death by four sisters and a brother. Surviving are many nieces and nephews, including Miss Helen Mitman of Hillsboro, Dr. George Crane of Hillsboro, Ben Mitman of Brownsburg and Bessie Myers of Waveland. The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Crumley-Williams Funeral Home at Hillsboro. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
