Mary Hazel Bilsland, 78, Covington, died unexpectedly Sunday morning Dec 7 in her home. She was born May 2, 1908, in Rossville, Ill, the daughter of Ashba Henry and Ella May Dimmitt Duncan. She lived there in Henning, Ill for several years and graduated from Henning HS. She was married Aug 31, 1929 in Danville, Ill to Earl Rudolph Bilsland, who survives. They moved to Covington in 1930. She worked at JC Penney in Danville Ill before retiring in 1949. She was a member of Covington United Methodist Church; Win One Class; United Methodist Women; Pythian Sisters and was president of the Past Chiefs Club. She also was a member of Fulton Banta American Legion Auxiliary and American Association of Retired Persons. Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Mrs. Bryce (Joanne) Miller; two sons, Robert E and James J; a brother, James Kenneth Duncan; 8 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today (Tuesday ) at Bodine & Shelby Covington. Funeral services will be held there at 11 a.. Wednesday with Rev. Allen Phillips officiating. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Contributions to Cancer Society.

Covington – Mary Hazel Bilsland, 78, died unexpectedly Sunday morning in her room in Covington. Born May 2, 1908 in Rossville, Ill she lived there and in Henning, ill for several years and graduated from Henning HS. Her marriage was Aug 31, 1929 in Danville, Ill to Earl Rudolph Bilsland who survives. They moved to Covington in 1930. Mrs. Bilsland worked at JC Penney in Danville, Ill before retiring in 1949. She was a member of Covington United Methodist Church; Win One Class; United Methodist Women; Pythian Sisters; and was president of the Past Chiefs Club. Surviving with the husband are a daughter, Mrs. Bryce (Joanne) Miller of Lapaz, Ind; two sons, Robert E. and James J.
