George F. Bingham, 89, Indianapolis attorney, died Tuesday evening at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Homer Warrick, Brownsburg. He had been ill a year. Mr. Bingham was born Sept 30, 1857, in Fountain County. He taught awhile in Fountain schools and was admitted to the bar in 1899 at Covington. Practicing law there until 1906   he then became Attorney General of Indiana a position he held until 1910. From then until his retirement two years ago, he was associated in the practice of law with his son, James E. Bingham in the firm of Bingham, Cook & Bingham with offices in the Guaranty Building. Mr. Bingham was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Irvington Methodist Church. He had been a resident of Irvington, living at 116 Johnson ave, 25 years before going to Brownsburg. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Baptist Church at Brownsburg. Burial will be at Veedersburg. Survivors besides Mrs. Warrick and James E. Bingham, include two other daughters, Mrs. Nell Crawford, Glendale, Cal and Mrs. CW Clawson, Madera, Cal, another son, Homer Bingham, Indianapolis; 40 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  – kbz

Services were to be held at 1 p.m. today in the Baptist Church at Brownsburg for George Bingham, retired Indianapolis attorney. Burial was to be at Veedersburg.  He was 89.  He died Tuesday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Homer Warrick, Brownsburg.  A native of Fountain County, he was senior member of the law firm of Bingham, Mendenhall & Bingham. During his early life, he practiced law in Veedersburg and also taught in the Fountain County schools. He served as a deputy attorney general in 1906.  A member of the Masonic lodge and the Irvington Methodist church.  Mr. Bingham had been a resident of Irvington 25 years before moving to Brownsburg. He lived at 11 Johnson Ave. Survivors include two other daughters, Mrs. Neil Crawfordsville, Glendale, Cal and Mrs. CW Clawson, Madera, Cal; two sons, James E. and Homer; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. - kz
