Rev. Thomas Birch, one of the oldest members of this conference of the M.E. Church, died at his home in Covington Monday. Mr. Birch was stationed on the Crawfordsville circuit about three years ago and has also been pastor of the church at Yountsville, being well known all over the county – kbz

Covington, May 29 – Rev. Thomas Birch, the oldest resident in Fountain County died in this city last evening aged about 70 years.  He emigrated to the state and county with his father, Judge Jonathan Birch from Virginia in 1823.  He was widely known among the Methodist ministry and Methodist people as a zealous and effective local preacher, and has had a number of appointments in the Northwestern Indiana Conference as a supply-preacher. - kbz

Rev. Thomas Birch, one of the oldest members of this conference of the ME Church died at his home in Covington last Monday. Mr. Birch had charge of the Crawfordsville district about three years ago and was well known throughout the county.
