Newtown - Hampton O. Black, 85, retired farmer, died 10:45 p.m. Sunday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. He had farmed for 50 years in the Newtown and New Richmond areas. A native of Newtown, he was born May 26, 1878, to Aaron and Eleanor Jane Black. He was married in 1900 to Mrs. Minnie Mattox, who preceded him in death 12 years ago. Mr. Black had lived since then with a sister, Miss Leola Black of Newtown. Surviving besides the sister are a step-daughter, Mrs. Goldie Spear of New Richmond, and nieces. Six brothers and a sister are deceased. Funeral services will be held at p.m. Wednesday in the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. George Phelps of Newtown officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Attica. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon and evening.
