Mullan - David William Blacketer, Jr., 78, of Mullan died Saturday Nov 4, 1989 at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene. He was born in Vermillion County, Indiana to David and Minnie (Barcus) Blacketer. Blacketer married Mildred Clark April 12, 1934 at Rockville, Indiana. He moved to the area in 1956. He was a miner for Hecia Mining company and retired from the Star Mine in 1974.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred, at home in Mullan; sons Robert and Richard in Mullan; daughters Jackie Archer of Coeur d'Alene; Debra Morris of Mullan and Patricia Decker also of Mullan; sister, Dorothy Massey of Veedersburg, Ind; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a brother, Pearl and a son, Jackie Lee.
Memorial services are set for Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Mullan. Cremation was held. Shoshone Funeral Service in Wallace is in charge of arrangements. The family suggest memorials be made to the (rest missing - sorry)
