Kingman- Joseph (Joe) Bland, 76, died at his home here late Monday night after a long illness. He was a native of Somerset, KY born Sept 5, 1888 to Thomas and Mary Barnett Bland. He was married to Sylvia Umphries Dec 15, 1912. Mr. Bland had last worked at the Veedersburg Foundry, retiring several year ago because of ill health. He was a member of the Kingman EUB Church and IOOF Lodge 339. Surviving are the wife and nieces and nephews. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Thursday at the EUB Church here with Rev. Paul DuBois of Coal City officiating and burial in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church an hour preceding the services. Friends may call at the Woodrow Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
