Mrs. Mary Alice Blankenship, 84, a former resident of 1121 Oak, died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 24, 1967) in the Maracana Nursing Home in Urbana. Mrs. Blankenship came to the Danville area 21 years ago and formerly lived near Grape Creek. She came here from Lafayette, Ind. Born Oct. 17, 1883, in Fountain County, Ind., near Veedersburg, she was a daughter of Thomas and Nancy Redden French. She was married Oct. 31, 1901, in Veedersburg to John A. Blankenship, who preceded her in death in 1958. Mrs. Blankenship was a member of the Crawfordsville Christian Church. Surviving are two sons, Harry F. of West Lafayette and Harold F. of Avella, Pa.; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel M. Watt of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Don (Helen) Cosat of 1121 Oak, Danville; a brother, Willie A. French of Veedersburg; a sister, Mrs. Alta Henthorn of Waynetown, Ind.; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Edmund-Jones-Sullivan Funeral Home. The Rev. Roy Silver will officiate. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. Friends will be received at the funeral home 6-9 tonight.
