Guy Samuel Blue, age 54, of Danville, Ill., a native of Covington, died at 11:05 a.m. Friday, March 24, at the Carle Hospital in Urbana, Ill., where he had been a patient since Feb. 19. He had been ill since November, 1966. Mr. Blue was born Aug. 1, 1912 in Covington, the son of William and Della Blue Blue. He attended the Covington schools and moved to Danville in 1946. For the past 15 years he had been employed at Mervis Iron and Metal Co., Inc., as a shear operator. He was married in Danville on July 7, 1956 to Mary Elizabeth Rector, who survives. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Covington. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: his mother, Mrs. Della Blue Bruce of Danville; and four half sisters, Mrs. Mary McDonald, Mrs. Peggy Keen, Mrs. Josephine Martin, and Dorothy, all of Danville. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Pape Memorial Home, Danville. The Rev. Samuel N. Smith officiated and burial was in Springhill Cemetery, Danville.
