James L. Bodine, 90, died Thursday morning in Covington Manor Nursing Home. He had been in ill health several months. Mr. Bodine was a lifetime resident of Fountain County, mostly in Shawnee Township. He was a farmer most of his life and ran a streetcar at Danville, Ill., at one time. He was a member of Knights of Pythias, Fountain Lodge 60 F & AM, Robert Prass Memorial Chapter 13 Amaranth Lodge of Lafayette, Order of Eastern Star 145 and the old Presbyterian Church of Covington. Born April 28, 1890, in Fountain County, he was a son of Robert and Charlotte LaTourette Bodine. He married Pearl Hickman June 6, 1915, at St. Joseph, Mich. She preceded him in death Jan. 30, 1932. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Eleanore Gaylor of Attica and Mrs. Don (Georgianna) Ford of Covington; one son, James R. Bodine of rural Attica; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Partenheimer of Urbana, Ill., and Mrs. Clint (Grace) Coffing of rural Crawfordsville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers are deceased. Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday in Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home at Covington with Brother James Boudouris officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday, with the family will be present 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Masonic services are at 8 p.m. Saturday.
