COVINGTON — Irvin N. Bone, 69, died Sunday at 2 p.m. at the place of his birth, 825 Harrison St., here. He was born Aug. 15, 1896, a son of William Jasper and Mary Katherine Duke Bone. He was married to Laura Lewsader on July 28, 1917. A life resident of Covington he was a World War I veteran, and was employed at Neal Gravel Company for 15 years. He was later employed at the VA Hospital at Danville, Ill. for 25 years prior to his retirement in 1962. A member of the First Church of Christ, he was also a member of the Moose Lodge at Danville, the Woodmen of the World, and the National Association of Retired Civil Service Employes. Since his retirement he and his wife had lived at Brooksville, Fla. during the winter. Survivors include his wife; a son, Norman of Covington, and a granddaughter, Laura Sue Bone, a student at Indiana University. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Church of Christ, with Rev. Harold Fogle and Rev. E.E. McConnell officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at Bodine-Shelby Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon and night.
