Kingman - Services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Woodrow Funeral Home for Miss Elizabeth Booe, 70, of Kingman, who died Tuesday, January 21. Rev. Larry McMillan officiated and burial was in Scott Prairie Cemetery near Steam Corner. Born in Kingman March 7, 1898, she was the daughter of Richard and Belle Nute Booe. Miss Booe was a 1915 graduate of Kingman High and attended Indiana State University at Terre Haute. She was an elementary teacher for two years and also worked for the Kingman Star. She moved to Chicago, Ill., where she served as a secretary in an insurance agency for 20 years. After returning to Kingman, she served as librarian of the Kingman Public Library. Her memberships included the Kingman Christian Church, the Kingman Chapter 204, Order of the Eastern Star, Veedersburg Chapter of DAR, Kingman Woman's Club, and the Fountain County Historical Society. She is survived by a sister, Miss Joan Booe of Kingman.   --Thanks so much to Kelly K for typing this one :) kz

KINGMAN - Miss Elizabeth Booe, 70, of Kingman, died early Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient one month. Born in Kingman on March 7, 1898, she was a daughter of Belle Nute Booe. A 1915 graduate of Kingman High School, Miss Booe attended State Normal at Terre Haute. She taught grade school for two years and worked in the office of The Kingman Star. She was a secretary in a Chicago insurance office for 20 years. After returning to Kingman, Miss Booe served as librarian of the Kingman Public Library. She was a member of the Kingman Christian Church, OES No. 204 at Kingman, the Veedersburg chapter of DAR, Kingman Women's Club and Fountain County Historical Society. Surviving are a sister, Miss Joan Booe of Kingman, and cousins. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Woodrow Funeral Home with Rev. Larry McMillan officiating. Burial will be in Scott Prairie Cemetery east of Steam Corner. Miss, Booe's sister will receive friends at the funeral home from seven until nine o'clock this evening.  -- jlr
