Veedersburg — John Boord, 69, died of a heart attack at his home four miles north of Veedersburg at 4 p. m. Tuesday. With his wife, he had been raking leaves and burning them when the fire got out of control. During the excitement, he was stricken with the fatal attack. Born April 28, 1888 near Veedersburg he was the son of John and Rose Ann Campbell Boord. April 8, 1911, he married Julia Crane at Veedersburg. He farmed near Veedersburg for a number of years and had recently worked with his son, Kenard, as an electrician. He was a member of the Osborne Prairie Christian Church. Survivors, including the widow, are two sons, George of Lafayette and Kenard Boord of Veedersburg; two daughters, Mrs. Rose Ann Vaught of Lafayette and Margaret at home; three brothers, Cecil Boord of Columbus and Theodore and Wendell, both of Veedersburg, and six grandchildren. The body was taken to the J. Fred Paham Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
