ROMNEY — Betty Louise (Haines) Bossaer, 80, Romney, died at 8:50 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2007 in the home of her daughter, Peggy Kovach, near New Richmond. She had been in failing health for the past 15 years. She was born April 18, 1927 in Lafayette, the daughter of Buryl and Roberta (Funk) Haines. She married Joseph Franklyn Bossaer Feb. 26, 1949 in Attica. He preceded in death Sept. 4, 1995. After her marriage she worked on the family farm east of Attica until moving to their present location in Romney in 1962, where they continued farming. She was a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church in Attica; the 4 M's in Linden; and the Romney Fire House Auxiliary. She was an avid euchre player. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, baking and working puzzles. Survivors include: a daughter, Peggy (Ron) Kovach, New Richmond; two brothers, John (Ruby) Haines, Pontiac, Mich. and Robert “Skip” Haines, Lafayette; a sister, Barbara Leach, Lafayette; two granddaughters, Christine (Bill) Miller, Lafayette and Kelly (Jamie) Martin, West Lafayette; three step grandchildren, Heather (Lee) Tomlinson and Renay (Tim Valiant, both of Lafayette and Amanda (Jason) Druxman, Appleton, Wis., three great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ben and Ashley Miller; and seven step great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Jonah Tomlinson, T. J., Jacob and Owen Valiant, Gavin and Noel Druxman. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Carl and Donald Haines. Funeral mass was at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Francis Xavier Church, Attica, with the Rev. David Rasner officiating. Burial was in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Attica.
