Mrs. Clara J. Palmer Bowers, 91, of Rt. 1, Kingman, died early Saturday at St. Eliz. Hosp, Danivlle Ill after a short illness. She was born April 10, 1879 to John and Mary Bowers Sackmire. Her first marriage was with Elbert Palmer who died Feb. 2, 1957. She married Warren C. Bowers on Sept. 23, 1957. He survives. Also surviving are a son, Glen Palmer of Veedersburg; a daughter-in-law, Mattie Palmer of Rt. 1 Kingman two granddaughters and six great grandchildren A son, Clyde Palmer is deceased. Mrs. Bowers was a member of Centennial EUB Church. Funeral services were conducted today at Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman with Rev. Alfred Dobbs assisted by Rev. Dale Codman, officiating and burial in Centennial Cemetery.Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-09 Sunday at the funeral home.

KINGMAN – Mrs. Clara J. Palmer Bowers, age 91, of Kingman Rt. 1, died at 3 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient three days. Mrs. Bowers was born in Indiana on April 10, 1879, the daughter of John and Mary Roberts Sackmire. She was married in 1896 to Elbert Palmer, who preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1957. On Sept. 23, 1957, she was married to Warren C. Bowers, who survives. She was a member of the Centennial Community Church. Surviving, in addition to the husband, are: one son, Glen of Veedersburg Rt. 1; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Clyde (Mattie) Palmer of Kingman Rt. 1; two granddaughters, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband and one son. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Woodrow Funeral Home here. The Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiated and he was assisted by the Rev. Dale Cadman. Burial was in the Centennial Cemetery, east of Yeddo.
