Danville, Ill.—Kenneth “Kenny” Bowers, 63, Danville, died at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 1989 at his residence.
  He was born Sept. 16, 1925 in Henning, Ill., the son of John and Bertha Pugh Bowers. He was married July 4, 1947 in Hedrick to Barbara J. Hensley who survives.
  He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, where he received the Purple Heart.
  He was employed at Harrison Steel Castings Co., Attica, where he retired in January 1981.
  He was a member of the Hedrick Assembly of God Church, Curtis G. Redden American Legion Post 210, Danville Chapter 18 of the Disabled American Veterans and the Fraternal Order of Eagles and VFW, both in Attica.
  Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Larry, West Lebanon, and Mike, Alvin, Ill.; two brothers, Dale, Crown Point, and Russell, Kramer; one sister, Mildred Phelps, Oakhurst, Calif., and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one grandson.
  Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Monday at Danville National Cemetery with Chaplain James Williams officiating. Military rites were by legion Post 210.
