Ernest Bowman, 72 retired farmer died at 11:55 a.m. Tuesday August 12, 1952 at Culver Hospital where he had been a patient for the past 3 weeks. He was born August 13, 1879 in Jackson Township, Fountain County, Indiana,  son of Jacob and Elizabeth Basham Bowman. He was married in 1921 to Sylvia Redenbaugh, who survives. Mr. Bowman was a member of the Lutheran Church. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ura Hamm of Hillsboro and Mrs. Bessie Keller of Crawfordsville, and a half-sister, Mrs. Zula Livengood of Hillsboro RR. He was preceded in death by two brothers. The body is at the Woodrow Funeral Home where it will remain for services at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington.

Funeral services for Ernest Bowman who died in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville, Indiana on Aug 12 were held at Woodrow Funeral Home Thursday August 14, 1952 at 2:00 with Rev. Alfred Dobbs of Sterling officiating. Interment was made in Mt.Hope Cemetery near Covington. Mr. Bowman was born in Jackson Twp, Fountain County, Indiana on August 13, 1879 the son of  Jacob and Elizabeth Basham Bowman. On February 14, 1921 he was married to Sylvia Redenbaugh who survives. He was a member of the Phanuel Lutheran Church of Wallace. Surviving besides the wife, Sylvia, are two sisters, Mrs. Ura Hamm of Hillsboro and Mrs. Bessie Keller of Crawfordsville; a half sister, Mrs. Zula Livengood of Hillsboro and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
