Joseph Esten Bowman 69 a retired farmer died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday May 17 at the Small Rest Home in Waynetown. He has been in failing health for the past two years. Mr. Bowman was born August 13, 1883 in Jackson Township, Fountain County, Indiana, the son of  Henry and Martha Bowman. In 1903 he married Ina Alward who preceded him in death. Surviving are a son, Clarence of Wallace; a daughter Mrs. Leoma Thompson; a brother Homer; two sisters Mrs. Una Keller and Mrs. Ed Wildman; four grandchildren and one great granddaughter. A brother and two sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services were Tues in Waynetown with bur in the Wallace Lutheran Cemetery.
