Joseph H. Bowman, 72, a life resident of Perrysville, died at 10:25 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at Covington Manor Health Care Center, where he had been a patient for four years. He was born Oct. 8, 1913, in Perrysville, the son of Frank and Lulu Waggoner Bowman. He graduated from Perrysville High School in 1931. He was known as "Uncle Joe." He was a member of the Orchard Hills Church of Christ. He was formerly employed at Fountain Foundry and the Vermilion County Highway Department. Surviving are two brothers, Noah, Perrysville, and Frank, "Babe", Route 1, Covington; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Bowman, Perrysville; three nephews and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with Paul Kent officiating. Burial was in Lower Mound Cemetery.
