Marie E. Bowman, 83, Veedersburg, died at 2:45 a.m. Monday, November 6, 2000 at St. Clare Medical Center in Crawfordsville. She was born July 21, 1917 in Veedersburg to Clarence and Elizabeth Bartlow Dickey. She married Joseph W. Bowman on June 10, 1934 in Parke County. He survives. She was preceded in death by two sisters. Mrs. Bowman graduated from Veedersburg High School and LaSalle University of Chicago, Ill. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the Veedersburg American Legion Auxiliary, the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary #175 and the Lady Elk Lodge of Rockville. She served as a Red Cross volunteer during World War II. She retired from the Indiana Gas Co. in Rockville in 1981, where she worked as an accounting clerk and secretary. Services will be at the Dickerson Funeral Home Thursday, November 9, 2000 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Rusty Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Bonebrake Cemetery, Veedersburg. Memorial tributes may be made to the United Methodist Church of First Christian Church in Veedersburg.
