BOWSHER, John B.

John B Bowsher, 79, a Civil War veteran and prominent resident of this city died at his home, 107 Wilhoit Street Saturday morning at 1 o'clock after an illness of a year with complications.  He was born in Parke County, the son of John and Sarah Brooks Bowsher. He was married to Mary Black in February 1876.  Mr. Bowsher was a member of the Christian Church at Waynetown.

For many years the deceased lived at Hillsboro coming to Crawfordsville about 8 years ago. He served with distinction with Co A 85th Indiana Regiment during the Civil War.

He is survived by an adopted daughter, Mrs. Catherine Fouts with whom he lived; two grandchildren; a brother, AL Bowsher of Kingman and several nieces and nephews.  

Funeral services will be held from the late home at 10 o'clock this morning in charge of Rev. George Leonard.  Interment will take place at Waynetown - kbz
