CATES, Ind. (CNS) — Dessie Marie Bracken, 72, died Tuesday at 6:05 p.m. at her residence at Cates. She had been in ill health for several years. Mrs. Bracken, a lifetime resident of the Cates area, was born June 11, 1900, in Wabash Township, Fountain County, the daughter of William McLain and Artie Newnum McLain. On Feb. 1, 1919, she married Ray E. Bracken, who survives. She is also survived by three sons, William Gordon, Covington, Robert, Attica, and Harold E., Covington Route 1; two brothers, Henry McLain of Cayuga and Oscar McLain of Indianapolis; one sister, Mrs. Fauniel Howard, Cayuga Route 1; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Alfred Dobbs will officiate. Burial will be in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday.
