WILLIAMSPORT — Burl G. Branz, 70, 30 W. Center St., Williamsport, died at 2:17 p.m. Monday, July 5, 1999 in Home Hospital, Lafayette. His death was unexpected. Born in Sibley, Ill., July 19, 1928, he was the son of George J. and Hilda A. Steinlick Branz. He married Nora M. Hammond Nov. 25, 1948 in Sibley, Ill., who survives. He was raised in Sibley and graduated from Sibley Community School in 1946. He relocated to the Williamsport area in 1971. He was personnel director at Radio Material Corp. in Attica for 13 years. He later worked for Fairfield Manufacturing six years until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of the Attica Lutheran Chruch where he served on the church council. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Survivors, besides the wife, include: sons, Mike Branz, Blair, Neb., Carl Branz, Oxford, Lynn Branz, Clinton and Mark Branz, Pine Village; daughter, Lori (Mike) Barnhart, Williamsport; brothers, Merton and Orvin Branz, both of Gibson City, Ill.; sister Pauline Evans, Sun City West, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother, Lyle Branz; and his parents. Memorial services were at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Attica First Lutheran Church with Dr. Paul Pribbenow officiating. Maus Funeral Home, Attica, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to the Attica First Lutheran Church. – jlr
