COVINGTON, Ind. - A two-truck crash Oct. 17 on Route 63 a half mile north of Route 136 intersection has claimed the life of one of the drivers. Dead is Garland Lee Brasker, 35, of Covington Route 2. He died at 1:55 a.m. today (Oct. 30, 1968) at Carle Memorial Hospital in Champaign, Ill., where he had been a patient since the crash. Born Jan 23, 1933, in Warren County, he was the son of Donald and Garnet VanPelt Brasker. He was married, Jan. 21, 1956, to Ruth Terry, who survives. Other survivors include his parents, of Covington Route 2; two sons, William and Donald, both at home; three daughters, Mary, Carol and Carolyn, all at home; two brothers, Ronnie of Veedersburg Route 2 and Merrille of Covington Route 2; five sisters, Mrs. Alice Payne of Danville, Mrs. Margaret Summers of Covington Route 2, Mrs. Donna Hale of Indianapolis, Mrs. Juanita Allison of Covington and Mrs. Debra Woodrow of Great Lakes. Services will be at 2 p.m., EST Friday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. Edgar Allen will officiate. Burial will be in the West Lebanon Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home. Friends will be received after noon Thursday.
