ATTICA, Ind. — Mrs. Edella Mae Bratton, 69, of 206 S. Brady St., died at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday (July 25, 1978) in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. She had been hospitalized four weeks and ill six weeks. On April 6, 1909, she was born in Williamsport, the daughter of John W. and Estella Rend Smith. She had graduated in 1927 from Williamsport High and had resided most of her life in Attica. On June 5, 1929, in Covington, she was married to Raymond R. Bratton, who died Jan. 30, 1971. Mrs. Bratton was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Merry-Go-Round Club and Senior Citizens Organization. Survivors include a son, Raymond Lee Bratton of Addison, Ill.; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Hanthorne of Attica, Mrs. Manson (Kay) Cole of Lafayette, Mrs. Jannine Aldred of Kankakee, Ill., and Mrs. Sharon Lauretti of Lakeview, Ore.; a brother, LeRoy Smith of Dunnellon, Fla.: two aunts, Mrs. Goldia Rend of Williamsport Route 1 and Mrs. Bertha Archer of Lafayette; 14 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Maus Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marvin Jones and the Rev. Melvin Nead officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery at Williamsport.
