Death removed one of the pioneer women of Veedersburg, Monday, January 16, when Mrs. Margaret Brewer, 80, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jesse Meadows, in the south part of the city. She had been a resident of Veedersburg for many years past and had a wide acquaintance and many friends. Mrs. Brewer was born near Newport, Indiana, the daughter of James H. and Anna Shilling Arrowsmith. her early life was spent in that vicinity. On October 16 1874, she was married to Scott Brewer who died in 1912.

Surviving are the following children, T. W. Brewer, Pearley Brewer, Mrs. Maude Phillips and Mrs. Edith Meadows, all of Veedersburg, Mrs. Ethel Houser, Hillsboro, Mrs. Lillian Shuler, Crawfordsville, Jesse Brewer, Buchanan, Michigan, Elmer Brewer, Clinton, Indiana, and William Brewer, Metamora, Illinois. There are also 40 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
