Hillsboro – Max E. Brewer, 72, died Thursday morning in his home. Born May 30, 1919 in Veedersburg, he attended Veedersburg school. Mr. Brewer married Esther Phipps on April 14, 1940 and she survives. He retired as a press operator from Alcoa in 1975. Mr. Brewer was a member of Hillsboro Nazarene Church. Also surviving are two sons, Mark A. Brewer at home; and Carl Dean Brewer; a daughter, Mrs. Leon (Charlotte) Jones of Waynetown; four sisters, Maxine Ratcliff; Ethel Duncan and Dorothy Kruger, all of Veedersburg; Hazel Gookins of Mellott and Gertrude Ellis of Kingman; and a brother, Loren “Buck” Brewer of Veedersburg. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Surviving, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchild. Memorial service to be announced later. -kz
