Alexandria – Elmer Brewer, 76, died at 3:20 p.m. Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Thomas Cox, RR 2, Alexandria, following a long illness.  Mr. Brewer was a retired lumberman and had lived in Alexandria for the past 14 years, moving here from Charleston, Ill.  He was born April 24, 1889 near Veedersburg, Ind.  Surviving are six sons: Alphas, Elmer Levi, both of Sacramento, Calif; John, Carmichael, Calif; Wayne, Charleston Ill; Kenneth, Alexandria and William of Rochester, NY; six daughters: Mrs. Edith Nicholas and Mrs. Lola Riley, both of Tremont, Ill; Mrs. Ruby Bickness and Mrs. Mary VanSickle, Coshocton, Ohio; Mrs. Edmund Dennison, St. Charles Ill and Mrs. Cox; 34 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  Friends may call at the Carl M. Kyle Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Monday.  Services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Carl M. Lueker officiating. Burial will following New Walnut Grove Cemetery, Clinton.  -  kbz
