Attica – Tula Marie Albright Brier, 86 of 1000 S. Counsil St, died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday Jan 5, in Regency Place in Lafayette. Mrs. Brier formerly was a clerk at the Sam Newmark Clothing Store in Attica, then worked at the A&P Grocery in Attica and Lafayette and later and the Grill at Shawnee Bowling Lanes in Attica. Born at Winthrop, Warren County on June 30, 1910, she grew up there and attended Winthrop School. She lived in Shawnee Township, Fountain County from 1938 until 1982 when she moved to Attica. She had been a resident of Regency Place since June.  Mrs. Brier was a member of Attica Christian Church, Shawnee Home Demonstration Club and Monday Twilight Bowling League. She enjoyed gardening and bowling.  She married Merle O. Brider, Sr on Oct 23, 1929 in Attica. He died March 13, 1983.  Surviving are two sons, Merle Brier Jr of Covington and Carl A. Brier of Attica and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Evans of West Lebanon and Mrs. Jane Fay of Waynetown.

Brier, Tula M. Friends may call at Maus Funeral Home, 4:30 – 8 p.m. Wednesday. Service in Maus Chapel, 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Loren Hetrick officiating. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Six grandchildren, 7  great grandchildren survive. A daughter, Barbara Swanson, a brother, Glen Albright and a great granddaughter preceded her in death.
