Attica – Wilmer Vern Brier, Jr, 88 of Rural Attica passed away at his home on Friday, Dec 27, 2013. Wilmer was born on the family farm, the home where he resided on Nov 9, 1925.  He was the son of Wilmer and _____.  Wilmer has resided his entire life on the family homestead. He was a 1944 graduate of Williamsport HS. Wilmer was a farmer all of his life, farming in Warren and Liberty Townships, Warren County. He drove the school bus for the Metropolitan School District of Warren County for 34 years.  Wilmer served both in WWII and the Korean War with the US Army.  He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Heroic Action in WWII. At the time of his honorable discharge, he had attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.  Wilmer was a member of the Hickman Heights Christian Church.  He enjoyed his antique farm tractors and operated them in many area parades. Wilmer never met a stranger.  He was proud of his profession as a farmer; proud of his family and proud of his country that he served.  On June 12 1947, Wilmer married Juanita Caroline Hetrick in Attica.  Wilmer leaves behind his wife, Juanita of 66 years; their four sons: David F (Jacki) Brier; Steven V  (Rozanna) Brier and John M. (Diane) Brier, all of Attica; Scott D (Jae Ann) Brier, Pine Village; nine grandchildren: Shane Brier, Jason (Hillary) Brier, Andrew (Shey) Brier, Collin (Kayla) Brier, Sean Brier, Heather (Dan) Roudebush, Mark Brier, Brandon (Chelsey) Brier and Kayla (Matt) Taylor; 12 great grandchildren: Easton, Alowan, Evynn, Kaylin, Molly Brier; Thomas, Sidney and Lauren Roudebush; Kelsi, Kenton and Austin Brier and Addison Taylor.  Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica on Wednesday January 1st from 2-6 p.m.  Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Jan 2 at 11 a.m. with Pastors David Keeton and Bob Elness officiating. Burial with military honors will be held in the Highland Cemetery, Williamsport.  Memorial contributions may be made to “Honor Flight” (Lafayette Division – Gold Star Mothers).  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.  Condolences may be sent on line to www mausfuneral home . com
